STEVE HARRIS' Daughter Added To Remainder Of IRON MAIDEN's European Tour
November 20, 2006IRON MAIDEN bassist Steve Harris' daughter Lauren Harris and her band have been added to MAIDEN's European tour for all dates from and including Den Bosch, Holland on November 26 through to the two nights at Earl's Court, London December 22-23.
Says manager Rod Smallwood: "Lauren supported MAIDEN in Japan on our first two Euro shows in Denmark and went down extremely well with those audiences so we all thought why not put her on the other shows too as an addition to the bill. Nearly all the shows are already sold out and as all the halls are standing on the floor and fans like to get in position at the barriers early this would be great for those fans to be entertained during the period before the show would usually start, so it's a bit extra for those fans. Lauren will play for about 25 minutes each night prior to TRIVIUM. This will not change the current running times of our shows or the sets played by IRON MAIDEN and TRIVIUM — it's an added bonus to the existing bill."
As previously reported, legendary rock photographer Ross Halfin has uploaded a number of photos of Lauren Harris. Halfin says, "I've photographed her since she was born — and you know, she looks better with age..." Check out the pictures at this location.
Lauren's current solo band features Ritchie Faulkner (guitar; also in VOODOO SIX) from U.K., Tom McWilliams (drums; JON SECADA, CRITICAL MASS) from U.S. and new bassist Randy Gregg (THIN LIZZY, ANGEL) also from U.S., who takes over from Miguel Gonzales (BRIAN HOWE).
Lauren Harris recently spent time in Miami, Florida recording a solo album with Grammy-nominated writer/producer Tom McWilliams.
A five-minute audio interview with Lauren Harris conducted on June 6 by Jim Bone of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, PA's WBSX-97.9X has been posted online in MP3 format at this location.
